FSC’s working visit to the Emigration Museum in Gdynia

The FSC accepted the invitation to the Emigration Museum in Gdynia, Poland, the best Slavic museum of 2018. The purpose of the working visit was to discuss joint activities that will take place in 2019, in particular those dedicated to the promotion of the Živa Award and the commemoration of the 15th anniversary of the FSC. Also on the agenda were the increasingly closer ties between the museums running for the Živa Award over five seasons, by now more than 100 of them from 13 FSC member countries.

In September, the Emigration Museum in Gdynia received the Živa Award, a work of art created by Ljubica Ratkajec Kočica. On this occasion the Museum Director Karolina Grabowicz-Matyjas stressed: “This is a result of work and commitment of the entire team. We are glad that the Forum of Slavic Cultures appreciated an involvement of the Emigration Museum, that, despite being a young institution, has made a firm mark on the cultural map of Poland. The jury particularly emphasized an out-of-the-box approach towards the role played by the cultural institution, social value of the projects and, what I really want to highlight – a passion and commitment of the whole staff. Simultaneously, this is the award for all the museum’s employees, whom I warmly thank to for their creativity and enthusiasm.”
