FSC Back at the Fair in the Air

The Ljubljana, UNESCO City of Literature Office organised the second edition of Fair in the Air at Ljubljana’s Zvezda Park. The FSC participated once again with the translations of books published within the One Hundred Slavic Novels series and the monograph At the Table with the Slavs.

The second Fair in the Air featured 38 Slovenian publishers showcasing their book titles under the open sky. One of them was the FSC, offering all Slovenian translations from the One Hundred Slavic Novels series and the first world monograph on Slavic culinary traditions At the Table with the Slavs, written by Prof. Janez Bogataj.

“The Women of Lazarus by Russian author Marina Stepnova, translated by Borut Kraševec, was our best-selling novel at both fairs,” said Mateja Jančar, head of the FSC’s publishing programme, adding that they were pleased with the numbers they sold and delighted that they were able to present their books and projects to many passersby. With this year’s Fair in the Air taking place alongside the Museums on a Summer Night annual event, visitors were able to check out and buy new books under the street lights well into the evening.
