Transformations exhibition again at the Ljubljana City Hall

The Historical Atrium of the Ljubljana City Hall is once again hosting the exhibition Transformations: FROM Slavic Clothing Traditions TO Modern Designs.

Alongside the collections from the first cycle of the project, which were created under the curatorial guidance of Jožica Brodarič, this time also the creations of five fashion designers from the second cycle, curated by Stanka Vauda Benčević, are exhibited. In the project, elements of the cultural heritage of the Slavic nations are intertwined with the esprit  and specific sensibility of the fashion designers of the younger and middle generations in unique collections.

Until 4 September, visitors can see how the Slavic heritage has been originally “tailored” by Nikolay Bozhilov (Bulgaria), Denisa Dovalová (Czech Republic), Jelena Holec (Croatia), Dragan Hristov (North Macedonia), Nevena Ivanović (Serbia), Kinga Król (Poland), Ivana Murišić (Montenegro), Galina Biryukova and Nikolay Biryukov (Russia), Andrea Pojezdálová (Slovakia) and Jelena Proković (Slovenia).

The exhibition, which is accompanied by an extensive catalogue, was last year shown at the Museum of Applied Arts in Belgrade.
