Competition for the best story, translation and illustration “The Slavic World through Children's Eyes”
To mark the 15th anniversary of FSC, the Centre of Slavic Cultures Moscow announced the international competition for the best story, translation and illustration ‒ “The Slavic World through Children's Eyes”.
The competition will take place in three stages:
Stage 1 = national ‒ writing in mother tongue,
Stage 2 = Slavic – translation,
Stage 3 = international – illustration.
The story-writing competition for children aged 7 to 17 takes places in several Slavic countries. The stories must not be longer than 1800 characters (including spaces) and should tackle one of the following subjects:
- a journey through a Slavic fairy tale,
- a journey to a Slavic country,
- a famous Slav,
- traditional culture or arts and crafts of a Slavic country.
The submission deadline is 28 February 2019.
The best stories written in a mother tongue will be translated, published and awarded a prize.
The next two stages for young translators and illustrators will take place in spring 2019.
