Congratulations to award winners Urša Zabukovec and Suzana Tratnik

Urša Zabukovec, translator of Tatyana Tolstaya’s novel The Slynx, which came out last year as part of the 100 Slavic Novels series, received the Sovre Award conferred by the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators for the best translation into Slovene. According to the jury, the translator of this multi-layered, erudite novel impressed the most by “consistently moving back and forth between a range of language registers, from hilarious and juicy colloquialisms to lyrical, even harrowing descriptions of nature.”

Suzana Tratnik, author from the Slovenian list of the 100 Slavic Novels series, received the award for the best short story collection of the past year at the Novo Mesto Short festival.
