With the October Polish language workshop the Forum of Slavic Cultures joined the Ljubljana City Library’s reading project entitled Across the Charles Bridge to Warsaw. Gabriela Polok, FSC’s associate from Poland, “equipped” the workshop participants with the basic knowledge that will help them find their way around the station, shop or a pub in Poland and told them more about her country from a Pole’s perspective. In the framework of the project the library hosted the interview with Tatjana Jamnik, literary translator from Czech and Polish, and Iztok Osojnik, comparatist. For this occasion, FSC donated books from the 100 Slavic Novels series to the Slavic Library to present them to the readers participating in the Across the Charles Bridge to Warsaw project. In October, the project focused on Slavic literature and in particular on quality translations from Slavic languages into Slovene.
