Will a Translator from the 100 Slavic Novels Series Be the Winner of a Prestigious Award?

Urša Zabukovec, translator of the novel Slynx by Tatiana Tolstaya, the Slovenian translation of which was last year published in the 100 Slavic Novels series, is shortlisted for the Sovre Award, the award bestowed by the Slovenian Association of Literary Translators for the best literary translation into the Slovenian language. According to the jury the translator of this multi-layered and erudite literary work left a special mark by “constantly playing with a wide range of language registers, from humor and juicy low colloquialisms to lyrical almost harrowing descriptions of nature”.
