A group of writers from the 100 Slavic Novels edition will for the first time join their colleagues, invited to the prestigious International Meeting of Writers at the Leo Tolstoy estate in Yasnaya Polyana.
The annual meeting that starts on 9 September, the day of Tolstoy’s birth, has been held since 1996. The Slavic authors will read from their works and take part in discussions with other Russian and international guests.
At this occasion the jury of the Yasnaya Polyana literary award will announce the short-listed nominees and their works. This year a Slovenian author Drago Jančar is among the nominees for the first time in the category of the most important foreign books of the 21st century.
