Živa at the Autumn Gathering in Posavje Museum Brežice

At their autumn gathering with the locals and guests at the exhibition Four Elements: 3 – Earth in the Posavje Museum Brežice the Forum of Slavic Cultures nominated the Museum for the Živa Award for the best Slavic museum 2019.

With their application to the call for the best Slavic museum the Posavje Museum Brežice joined almost 120 other museums from 13 Slavic countries that have applied for the Živa Award over the past six years. Andreja Rihter, Director of the Forum of Slavic Cultures, which confers the award, and jury member Nina Zdravič Polič, handed the nomination for the 2019 Živa Award for the best Slavic museum to Alenka Černelič Krošelj, Director of the Posavje Museum. “It was with pleasure and responsibility that we accepted the challenge of applying for the Živa Award. We are aware that it is more than just an award. The application accompanied the making of the new film about our museum. It stimulated us to make it even better and thus increase the visibility of our institution,” said Černelič Krošelj on the occasion.

The promotional video was screened at the autumn gathering at the Posavje Museum Brežice, when the visitors had the opportunity to attend the lecture entitled Museums as Cultural Hubs – the Future of Tradition: in Posavje, Slovenia and the World. The speakers were Aleksandra Berberih Slana, president of the Slovenian Museum Society, and Alenka Černelič Krošelj, museum’s director, Vice-president of ICOM Slovenia and President of the Regional Alliance of ICOM SEE for the period 2019 – 2022.
